Fetishization does not exist.
The term is basically having an "unreasonable" interest in someone or something which it also means to have an unreasonable sxual interest yet people can call violence towards white woman misogyny yet a lot of asian women would all call it racism if it was towards themselves. Why do we treat each other like this? putting up different defitions when it is the same thing. Call it like it is.
Fetishization is considered bad but the problem is that people with Special interests and Hyper fixations are immediately put into the label yet no one bats an eye? Even though it can be used for both.
Then the use that having a fantasy kink means you fet1shez r4p3 or gl0rify it when it has been seen in victims of R4P3 too often have similar behaviors. I am sick of people putting the fetishation label onto anything they can. they need to get over themselves, not that narcissism is bad in my opinion (quite the opposite.) but it is quite annoying when people won't be truthful about them being the same.
the word fetishization is made to make people feel like bad people for using any sort of transID's the same with the word Romanticize despite people living through their pains everyday they still would rather bully TransID people despite majority of us having unique traumas. It's a game of cat and mouse, they choose to ignore our explanations and trigger themselves.
Once again, this is just to keep us down. when people can't understand someone with a personality disorder or another mood disorder such as BPD may use TransID's because they feel like their life is too good for them./..

Oooh~ how about Mukuro ikusaba, Maki harukawa and Kirumi tojo with a girlfriend that only feels safe when she's with them
mukuro, maki and kirumi with a girlfriend that feels safe around them
info: female!reader, established relationship, tw: creepy dudes, Sxual assault, violence
type: hc format, non-despair au
a/n: woah let others give banger requests (jk, ty for this request) also sorry about maki's part idk why I made it so damn dark
⟡♡⟡♡⟡♡⟡♡⟡♡⟡♡⟡♡⟡♡⟡♡⟡♡⟡♡
kirumi tojo
as you are her top priority, her main focus is to always keep you safe and happy
she happily drops everything she's doing if you need her support
whether you want to travel to your classes, your dorm or go to the market, she'll always come with you at your request
her tall frame, calm composure and gentle mother-like care helped to relax you when you felt anxious or uneasy
with the way she is, she usually does not act impulsively unless you request her of something; especially in the first stages of your relationship
however, when she notices you're getting antsy she'll curl her arm around you and pull you close into her side or if you're sitting down she'll guide your head on her shoulder and hold it
if you prefer to hold her hand, she'll take off her glove if you enjoy the skin-to-skin contact
she isn't one to make a big scene at all however if someone was bothering you and making you feel threatened she'll put herself between you and that person
"excuse me, I believe my lover isn't comfortable right now, please give her space."
her firm tone and straightened posture would be enough to make anyone uncomfortable and walk away
she'll gently take you to a secluded area, putting her hands on your shoulders and looking down at you
"are you alright...? mmm... do not worry, you're safe with me."
she double checks that you're okay before taking you to a nice cafe where you could relax and sip tea with her
although kirumi makes better tea than this...
maki harukawa
at first, maki doesn't give the impression that she was protective of you
she wasn't really much of a 'touchy' person either, your relationship was purely enjoying the presence of each other
however, one day you were in a really crowded train station with your girlfriend, shuichi and kaito on your way to the main city hub
it was fine at first, waiting for the train to arrive. maki was just standing at your side looking down at her phone
suddenly you felt a strange touch go along your lower back and your entire body stiffened
you turned your head slightly to see a man standing right behind you, looking forward like if nothing had happened
your entire face went white and you practically pressed your body against maki's side, which she looked at you strangely
"what the hell are you doing?"
her words were harsh but that was usually how it was, you looked behind you again and the man had disappeared into the crowd
she had noticed your expression and she quickly softened up, touching your arm gently
"hey, what's wrong?"
you told her what happened and you swear you saw death itself in her eyes
"where?"
"where is that bastard?"
honestly you weren't expecting her to get murderous like this, not over you
it had taken all of you, kaito and shuichi to hold her back from killing anyone that looked at you the wrong way for the rest of the day
after that incident she always kept herself close to you, linking arms with you or holding you from behind (especially if you're a shorter person)
no doubt you felt the safest you had ever been in your entire life, she didn't even let a stranger lay a finger on you... even though she wanted to hurt them so bad, she restrained herself to not get arrested and make you sad
but she does glare at them and say the usual "do you want to die?"
mukuro ikusaba
oh boy
you didn't even need to mention anything to her, she was protecting you from day one
she was practically your personal bodyguard and that suited her just fine
whenever you were studying in the library she would stand over you and watch your surroundings
if anyone even dared come close to you she would glare at them and flash her knife that was strapped to her leg
okay so maybe she's being a little over the top...
but you really did feel a lot safer when she was around you
she would walk you everywhere and rarely left you alone, unless you were in your dorm of course
on the rare occasion that she leaves you alone for a moment, the lack of her presence is definitely obvious
it was late at night and you were waiting for her outside a 7/11, she was grabbing you both a drink and snack before you head back to the academy
whilst waiting, a biker was parked up closeby and kept looking at you
"hey sweetie, all alone?"
you tried to ignore him, looking away as the anxiety ate at you
"hey, i'm talking to you! playing hard to get, huh?"
the biker got up and walked over to you, cornering you against the wall as he leered at you
he was going to say some more disgusting things, until he suddenly was punted to the ground by a very angry mukuro
"get your FILTHY hands off of her!"
mukuro kicked at him, in the face, at this stomach... wherever her foot could reach she would pummel him
you almost looked in awe, even if she was being violent, seeing her protect you made your chest squeeze
...but you had to quickly stop her when she pulled her knife out
despite being beaten to a near pulp the biker drove off on his bike whilst whimpering
she sighed, taking a deep breath before looking at you with a kinder expression
"you okay? he didn't hurt you, did he?" when you shook your head she nodded her head and hugged you. "good. you're always going to be safe when I'm around, okay?"
she took you home after that and you curled into her arms when you cuddled that night... she held you a little tighter than normal as well.

Number one way to get blocked is by posting or willingly consuming Noncon, dubcon, incst, r Kelly activities, or abse.
I have so many problems with it but my main one is that it encourages men to think that their little 🍇 fantasies are okay.
Belle Delphine, a girl who literally acts like a child to post 🧡🖤, posted a photoshoot of where she pretends to get abducted and 🍇d by a man in the woods. These are the ways that men replied to the photoshoot
Imagine seeing that on your twt page after having been assaulted in your life and seeing men DROOL over this sxual violence.
Not only do you see men but you see women too, and they go around and condone this malarkey by writing smut with sxual violence. We as women are being sent back in time with this and undoing the metoo movement by fantasizing about this. Be ashamed knowing that you are betraying other young women like you and making the world a more dangerous place for them.

Can programming, and the programs used, be done solely for a specific purpose? Like a system that's programed to only have sxual type programs, or one solely for psychological, or physical harm/violence?
Yes, that is the purpose of programming. To intentionally traumatise a child leading to DID and programming the parts for specific roles.

Just so y’all know, I was writing it about how male victims (specifically Sam and Dean) of sxual violence are portrayed and how that reflects societies perception of male victims
I love how my infodump assignment I did on supernatural for social psych ended up being so liked by him that he mentioned it to the class. He was a little confused by the plot (it is 15 seasons, who wouldn’t be?) but he loved how I looked into it.

i also think that people who do engage with fandom on that level of incredibly personal attachment tend to implicitly assume that everyone is doing the same, and this is what leads to bad-faith assumptions that anyone who engages with a more conflict-heavy relationship or even just focuses on the darker parts of the canon itself are automatically personally suspect. which sucks.
like i am very detached from "fandom" at this point in my life and when i do choose to engage with it, it's incredibly impersonal, so i usually feel like an outsider looking in during these occasions... i don't really have a stake in these discussions, it's just weird to see this kind of engagement become the "default" state for fannish-type environments.
#authors note when i say 'conflict heavy' and 'darker parts' i absolutely do not mean gratuitous sxual violence or#any content of children being harmed. get out of here w that.

about dl romanticizing abuse, specifically s*xual abuse, it's honestly one of the reasons I hide my interest in the series and am a little embarrassed of it as a sxual abuse victim I also see it as coping mechanism but I also think it often crosses the line like we see how traumatized yui is but then we get fluffy drama cds lol but that def doesn't mean the fans are supporting any sort of abuse and aside from the anime dl portrays it in a very realistic way i'm sry u andanon had to dealwith that
Yeaaaah it definitely is a weird double standard I pointed out in that last post with society being ok so much romanticized violence etc but people getting up in arms over this.
And it’s in the past for me but my heart goes out to that anon definitely.
I’m also sorry you had to deal with sexual abuse too, it is very hard but you’re strong, anon :) and using the game as a coping mechanism isn’t bad at all, like I said in that last post and a few other posts, I do the same. It just gives you more control over the situations you’ve experienced and like I said, Yui’s (and even Laito’s) trama is done very realistically. Best of luck to you too getting over that situation as well <3

A “final” iteration of this drawing. I added black to make it more striking, as the monotone seemed a bit too soft for the concept. The writing over the face was an attempt to add more of my own experience into the work, so I got near-blackout drunk and wrote what came to my mind. What I tried to write kept coming up over and over in my head: it ended up being this strange message that read “Don’t ask me ‘you like that?’ if you don’t care about the answer.” It’s a message in reference to my history with sxual violence and substance abuse, as it’s something that I would say to the men in my past, to the substances I’ve used to cope, and to myself. The attempt was thwarted by my drunken self breaking the fountain pen and crying afterwards, but I left it at this state as to not give away too much and not make it too heavy handed.

Revealing What Perpetuates Rape Culture Essay
Revealing What Perpetuates Rape
My best friend was raped and abused repeatedly over the course of a year by her previous boyfriend. He had cut me out of her life in order to abuse, lie, and rape her without concern for my intrusion. A year later she and I reconciled our friendship and I encouraged her to report him to the police. As we talked through her experience, I recall her saying that she feels like she doesn’t have a right to say no to men, speak up, or say what she wants sexually because it had been used against her by her “abusive lover”(Cocchia Brown). We spoke about rape culture which she defined as society’s tendency to shift fault onto the victim rather than the perpetrator (Cocchia-Brown). Listening to my friend’s story opened my eyes to how pervasive an issue rape is in this country. America has a rape culture of slutshaming, victim blaming, and objectification which encourages sexual violence and discourages victims to come forward.
The prevalence of rape and sexual assault is astounding, however these crimes rarely result in serious consequences to the perpetrators. Over fourteen percent of women and three percent of men are raped annually in the United States (Hutchinson and Fisher). According to these statistics, in a population of 323.1 million, Americans 48,141,900 women and 9,693,000 men are victims of rape every year. With the extremely high amount of rapes being committed, it begs the question why is it that majority of these crimes go unpunished? Of all reported cases of rape, 97% of rapists never spend a day in jail (Hutchinson and Fisher). This horrific statistic sends the message to our society that you can get away with rape. If that’s not bad enough, two thirds of rapes go unreported. In order to decrease the prevalence, and increase the reporting of sexual assault, all rapists must held accountable for their crimes.
A majority of rape cases go unreported due to our society’s typical reaction to these reports. When women report sexual assault they’re often met with disbelief, blame, or degrading interrogation (WAVAM). All too often women are met with questions such as “What was she wearing?”, “Why was she drinking so much”, or “Why did she act so flirtatious?” in order to figure out what the women must have done to get raped. These questions are prime examples of victim blaming which theorizes that the victim must have done something to contribute to their rape such as dressing provocatively, drinking, acting flirtatious or a host of other “nefarious” reasons.
Victim blaming suggests that any one who “follows the rules” will be met with fair consequences; consequently victims of horrible crime must have done something to “deserve it” (“Why We Blame the Victim - and Why Larry Nassar SHows We Shouldn’t”). Victim blaming is asking what women could have done different to avoid or even prevent getting raped. This promotes disbelief and shame when victim comes forward as well as encouraging victim’s to blame themselves. The act of victim blaming, asking women to change their behavior and learn how to not get raped is an extremely toxic lesson to teach. We should not be teaching women how to not get raped and alternatively teach men that rape is not an option. Victim blaming is a societal norm that needs to stop as it perpetuates shame, silences victims, and protects those who commit sexual crimes.
Those who victim blame hold the belief that if a woman engages in certain behaviors she is at least partially responsible for her own rape (Gardes 104). From the book, Sexual Violence: Opposing Viewpoints, it was asserted that women were partially or completely responsible if they didn’t say no clearly enough, wore revealing clothing, were drunk, or had been flirtatious (Gardes 105). However, asking women change their behavior in order to avoid being raped does not prevent rape. Women who are dressed “properly”, completely sober, and clearly say no are not immune from rape. No victim of sexual assault regardless of clothing, sobriety, or any other reason is responsible for being raped. This concept does nothing but silence victims and dimisses perpetrators.
Stories from victims of the sexual abuse by former Olympic Gymnastic doctor, Larry Nassar, exemplifies the ways in which victims are treated when they report assault.
Larry Nassar sexually assaulted a total of 265 women in the course of decade. The first report of his sexual abuse was by gymnast, Larrissa Boyce, who came forward to her coach with the assault and was not believed (“How the System Fails Girls Abused by Larry Nassar”). Women are often not believed when they come forwards with allegations of sexual assault. In fact, every one of Nassar’s victims were told they were wrong and “just confused” (How the System Failed Girls Abused by Nassar). This serves to further discredit the victims and cause additional trauma.
Years later when survivor ,Jamie Dantscher, came forward in 2016 she was called a liar, a whore, and told she was making it all up for attention.. When the response to victims of sexual assault is disbelief, victim blaming and and slutshaming it is no wonder victims rarely come forward. This treatment dismisses the perpetrator and places a target on the victim to inflict shame and blame. Responding to victims in such a way in most likely the reason why Larry Nassar was able to continuously sexually assault 265 people in the scan of a decade. Nassar’s crimes are only one example of millions just like them with many other stories exemplifying slutshaming, harsh victim blaming, and disbelief.
Victim blaming is often intertwined with a heaping serving of slutshaming which suggests that if a woman is “sexual” she is whore, slut, skank and a plethora of other words that degrade women. Slut shaming perpetuates the idea that girls who are more sexual and flirtatious deserve less respect than those who are not. Slut shaming ridicules women for their supposed promiscuity deeming them dirty and immoral. It this twisted Puritan idea that if a female is sexually active, wears revealing clothes, or acts flirtatious she deserves to feel shameful. Slut shaming fuels victim blaming as it rationalizes that if a girl is “slutty” she deserves to be raped.
There is a prominent double standard when it come to a woman’s sexuality. On one hand woman are told that sex is shameful that they should dress conservatively, remain virginal until marriage and act in a passive and respectful manner to avoid being considered a slut. On the other hand, women bodies are hypesexualized in the media and much of mainstream society. Movies, television and media, all use a woman’s sexuality to sell a myriad of products aimed at inticing and arousing men. Sexual objectification establishes women as objects for male gratification images to satisfy the male gaze (Thorpes).
Objectification is harmful for a number of reasons, if women are perceived as objects, they are more likely to be sexually assaulted. Once you reduce a person down to an object its is a lot easier to take advantage of them rather than seeing them as a human being. Sexual objectification is also extremely detrimental to a woman’s mental health correlating with issues such as trauma, depression, eating disorders and a reduced self esteem (Department of Applied Psychology). When women are bombarded with hypersexualized photoshop images of women that society deems as the “ perfect woman”, they often internalize this perception of the female body as their own self image. Women’s effort to match this image lead to eating disorders in order to be unrealistically thin and beautiful, which only results in depression and low self esteem because none of these expectations are attainable. Societies highly sexualized flawless images of the female body which only creates problems that damage the self image of women everywhere and continue to normalize the idea that women are objects.
Slutshaming and objectification are taught to girls from a very young age in school with the enforcement of dress code. Now there is no problem with guidelines for dress, however there is a problem with dress code when it target girls with the idea that their bodies are sexual and therefore distracting. Young girls get dress coded for showing shoulder, too much leg, their backs, their chest, and are told to cover up in order to not distract fellow male classmates. This tells girls that their bodies are inherently sexual more so than boys. It creates the notion that there is something shameful about the way they look.
From dress codes that target girls in school, to the media which objectifies the female body, to the harsh treatment of victims who report sexual assault, one can conclude that the rape culture in America is entrenched and a serious issue. Rape culture consists of the beliefs that are predominantly male driven and result in girls and women’s bodies being viewed as sexual objects, that victims of sexual assault must have caused their own rape, and the pervasive shame we inflict on women for their sexuality. Victim blaming silences the victim and discredits the action of the rapist. Slutshaming though deeply ingrained into our society, further oppresses and degrades women on account of their sexuality. In order to have more people report rape, and more rapists be tried and convicted of their crimes, victim blaming, slut shaming, and constant sexual objectification has to come to an end.

‘My Father Had S*xual Intercourse With Me For 4 Years’- Teenager Speaks
An 18-year-old admission seeker (name withheld) on Wednesday narrated to an Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court how her father used blackmail to have unlawful sexual intercourse with her since she was 12-years-old.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that her father, 52-year-old Folorunso Oluwaseun was arraigned on Feb. 8, on a two-count charge of defilement and sexual assault.
The teenager, the first prosecution witness, told the court that the sexual abuse spanned four years (2012 to 2016) before she was removed from Oluwaseun’s care by her mother.
She revealed that Oluwaseun blackmailed her by refusing to give her and her younger siblings aged five and two years food unless she gave in to his incestuous demands.
While being led in evidence by Mr Babajide Boye, the State Prosecutor, she said: “When the abuse occurred, I was living with my father and four siblings at Ofin in Ikorodu and my mother was staying in Ibadan.
“When it happened, I told my immediate younger sister and she said it is a curse in the Bible, I told my father and he told me it is not a curse that God knows he doesn’t have a wife and God won’t count it as sin.
“I allowed him to continue but my sister said it was not good and I told him I can’t allow him continue and he told me that he would not give us food unless I allowed him to continue.
“He refused to give us food and my young brothers aged five and two were very hungry so my sister said I should allow him to continue so he will give us food since he said it is not a sin and I allowed him continue.
“I decided to tell his sister, Mummy Tosin and she promised to talk to him.
“He approached me asking why I told his sister after he has told me it isn’t a sin and that it is only if he has sexual intercourse with me that he will have money to take care of us,” she said.
The teenager, in her evidence gave an insight into how her family handled her allegations of incest against her father.
“In 2013, my mother came back home but left after about a month.
“He stopped when she was around and started again when she left, I didn’t tell my mother because my father said I should not tell her.
“We usually go to the camp of the Apostolic Church every year and my father told me that his sister reported him to his mother and his mother told him not to get me pregnant.
“I told my sister and, she said our father’s family doesn’t like us at all.
“Around August 2016, my mother came back home and one night he searched for me wanting to sleep with me again.
“When my mother caught him, she started shouting but he shouted back at her saying what can she do to him.
“My mother took all of us to Ibadan saying if she stayed after knowing about the acts my dad can kill her,” she said.
The teenager said that her father’s blackmail continued when the family moved to Ibadan.
“I was teaching in a small school in Ibadan and we used to call him to send us money but he will say until we come back to Ikorodu.
“I didn’t want to go back so I went to the proprietress of the school asking for salary increment and I told her everything I went through in the hands of my father,” she said.
The witness said through the influence of the school proprietress, she was able to report her father to the appropriate authorities leading to his arrest.
The teenager’s mother (name withheld), while giving evidence as the second prosecution witness said she separated from Oluwaseun after he accused her of witchcraft.
“I moved to Ibadan where I began selling raw food stuff and sending gifts to my sister to give my children occasionally because their father refused me direct access to them.
“I was unaware of everything that happened to my daughter as she never confided in me until I caught her father in the act.
“I left with my children after he refused to accept responsibility or show any form of repentance for his actions.
“I feared he will kill me in a bid to cover up the secret,” the mother said.
According to the prosecution, the offences contravene sections 137 and 263 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State 2011.
Justice Sybil Nwaka adjourned the case until June 21 for continuation of trial.

Answer the phone "Harry, you're no good alone Why are you sittin' at home on the floor? What kind of pills are you on?" Ringin' the bell And nobody's comin' to help Your daddy lives by himself He just wants to know that you're well, oh
The following morning she did everything she could to cover up any tracks of what she had been doing the previous night. She did not speak about her discoveries with Bobby. Instead, she carried up her cleaning and tidying work. Everywhere she looked, everywhere she tried to clean, she would find empty booze and beer bottles. She quickly filled a trash bag big enough for her to stand in it. Bobby was sitting and reading a book.
“You really don’t have to do this, you know?” He said.
“If I have to live here indefinitely I am not going to live in filth.” She answered back, serious. He gave her a quick upset look as she lifted the open beer on the table to swipe it.
“Have you heard from the boys?”
“They called yesterday to check in.”
She moved the full trash bag on the porch and closed the door behind her.
“You realize they might not be back for a while, right?”
Emily sighed and sat down on the couch. “Yeah.” She sighed.
“What are you going to do?”
“I mean… I don’t know.” She crossed her legs and stared in front of her.
“Well, whatever you choose to do, remember you are not here to babysit me or your brothers, you are here because your brothers think you need a break. So…take a break.” He went upstairs and Emily was left alone with her thoughts. She looked around: the only thing she could do was read lore books.
Re-read the bible for the third time.
There was no TV, there was nobody to speak to. Nobody to bake pies for.
Nobody to make happy as a distraction from her own pain.
As the days passed, instead of feeling better, she felt worse. She was used to not having a single moment of peace, always running up and down cities and staying on that couch for the whole afternoon was starting to affect her.
She had realized she had not thought of her own well being in years: there was always something more urgent, a body to burn, her father to find, a ghost to hunt.
People to save.
But she never had the time to think about saving herself. She didn’t even like hunting. It was just something she found herself doing, just like she found herself studying ballet at 5, never really knowing why and who put her there. All of a sudden, she was a ballerina.
And at 18, all of a sudden, she had become a hunter.
Her old life had never even come back to her mind: her friends, her boyfriend, her school.
Alex and her mother were the only thing she sometimes thought about, but mostly her life had been going on for inertia.
Dean was being mean? She would be mean.
Her father said “let’s go right.”, she would go right.
She found herself shooting beer cans in that exact house and never questioned for a second if it was the best thing for her. She learned Latin and she read lore books.
Never decided to do so.
She just did, because someone asked her to.
If nobody told her what to do, she had nothing to do.
All that was left, since nobody was around to give her orders, was to be with herself, think about herself, decide what she wanted to be. What she wanted to do.
She went to the bathroom, got naked and stared at herself in the mirror.
Emily from three years prior would have never recognized her.
Her hair was not properly combed, her eyes were marked by sleep deprivation and alcohol, and her body looked completely different than it used to.
She washed her face and started combing her hair, taking away a knot that had been in the back of her neck for a couple of weeks and that she didn’t bother taking care of earlier. It wasn’t like she’d wear her hair in anything that wasn’t a messy bun.
She had not worn any makeup since she left to hook up with her friend in Colorado and she got kidnapped. Same thing for a dress or heels.
In her old life, she used to go out twice a week with her friends. She would dance and she would drink and she would flirt with that one boy she really liked.
What happened to all her dreams?
She used to want to be a doctor, to help people.
Hunting wasn’t the type of help she was counting on providing.
What did she really want?
As much as she tried to think about it, she could not get an answer from herself.
Did she want to be a hunter?
Did she want her life back?
It was as if her mind had gone numb.
What do you want, Emily?
“Bobby, I don’t know what to do.” She whined to the old man as she went back downstairs, her hands still busy combing her hair.
“What am I supposed to do about it?”
“I don’t know, is there anything you need help with?”
“I already told you, you are not here to babysit me. If there is nothing to do, then don’t do nothing.”
She walked back into the main room. She stared at the book-covered walls and started to go through all the titles. She had read most of them in her time there.
She found one she didn’t remember reading and sat down. Since the book was in latin, she figured it would be a good chance to brush up her skills.
The book was full of words she had never seen before, She quickly gave up and fell asleep right on her notes. When she woke up, the first thing she smelled was the typical scent of take out food.
“Was that book so boring?” Said Bobby from the other corner of the room.
“I was trying to translate it, but my Latin skills must be really rusty.”
“Really?” He said, throwing a brown bag containing chips at her. She sensed some sarcasm. “Might that be because the book is not in Latin?”
Emily squinted at the words on the page just to find out the book was in Italian.
“Well that explains it.” She pushed the book away and started to eat. “Any news from the boys?”
“Nope.”
She ate her meal in silence and then got ready to leave the house. Emily walked to the nearby fitness track. She figured if she was to get back to hunting as soon as she was better mentally, she should keep her body trained. So she started running laps. At the track there were few people, but one of them caught Emily's attention much more than the others. She was getting ready to do some muscle training when this person approached her. It was a blonde guy, tall, the surfer type, wearing a sweated down tank top and Bluetooth earphones. Emily already had one hand on the calisthenics rings when he arrived.
“Hey there!” He said, smiling. She immediately stepped away from the apparatus.
“Were you using this?” She asked. “Sorry, I-”
“What? No, no.. it's fine.”
“Oh, alright then.” She put both her hands on the rings and pulled herself up fairly easily.
“How long have you been training?” Asked the guy. Emily lowered herself back and then up again, until the rings were resting at her waist.
“About three years.” She said, adjusting herself. “What about you, what brings you here?”
“You know, the usual things. Procrastinating assignments, meeting friends and… pretty girls.”
Emily ignored the obvious flirt. “Oh, really? So you go to college?”
“Yup, I am in pre med.”
Emily's past life flashed before her eyes while she did another muscle up on the rings. At her fifth repetition, she finally came down.
“Show me what you got.” She said, pointing at the guy in front of her. He shrugged and mounted the rings. After doing the same move Emily had just done, he also pulled himself up into a handstand.
“Well, “ sighed Emily when he came down the rings as well. ”...I cannot say I won that one.”
“I used to do gymnastics back in high school.” He dried his hands from the sweat on his tank top. “My name's Daniel by the way.”
“Emily.” She shook his hand.
“Okay, Emily, so… Do you live nearby? It's the first time I see you here.”
“Yes, but it's temporary, I'll probably leave soon.”
“You chose a weird place for your holiday.” They started jogging together. “I'm here with my…“ She paused for a second. “Uncle? Yeah, just visiting some family.”
“I see…“ He jogged a couple of steps ahead of her and then turned around to talk to her, running backwards. “Listen, there's a party tonight, what if…“
“Sorry, I don't think I can make it.” Emily cut him short. “I am afraid I have to study.”
“You go to college too?”
“Not exactly, I-... uh I need to conduct some research for the family business, you know.”
“Family business, uh? What kind of business?”
She looked around, looking for something she could make up on the spot. People running… tennis shoes business? Yoga mats? People chatting on the benches… Sofas? Maybe she could say they made sofas, or… or pet sofas. A beer bottle, beer, alcohol… “Beer!” She exclaimed, way too excited. “We-we make beer.”
“Cool! Maybe another time you could bring some to a party.” Said Daniel. “If you change your mind, my offer will be valid for all parties from here to eternity.” He smiled and sprinted down the track. Emily didn't see him again that night and figured he had gone home. When the sun started setting, she started walking towards Bobby's house, stopped to buy some take away and then walked back into the lot. She announced herself by slamming the door. “Bobby, do we have any beer left?” She asked, throwing her tennis shoes in a corner.
“Your brother just drank the last one.” Said Bobby's voice from behind the kitchen door. A second later, before she could argue that no, she had bought beer after Dean and Sam left, the door opened and Dean came out of it holding a beer. “Ah, here she is.”
“Welcome back!” Smiled Emily, walking past him and entering the kitchen, placing the brown take out bag on the table. “I didn't expect to see you this soon.”
“It was a quick one.” Said Sam. “How are you doing?”
“I was just back from the fitness track,“ said Emily. “Gotta keep in shape, y'know.”
They all nodded. “You seem happier than usual.” Said Bobby, suspicious, as he saw Emily crouch in front of the fridge to take out the remaining pie whole humming a happy song.
When she stood back up, Dean was smirking at her. “What?”
“I know this mood,“ he said. “It's the same mood you had when you came back from school after kissing that guy, Greg.”
“I don't know what you are talking about…” Lied Emily, instinctively smiling at the very last bits of normal life she had had in that exact place, when she was still finishing high school and would talk about her adventures on the phone with Christy, the only friend she managed to get in Sioux Falls before she moved out for college and Emily never heard from her again.
“Yeah, right-” Dean passed her a beer. “Talk. Now.”
“What?”
“What?” Said him. “I am curious!”
Emily looked around, looking for Bobby's or Sam's support. They both seemed unbothered.
“Alright, I met a guy while I was training,“ she said “He invited my to a party, and yes, before you ask, making this conversation way too uncomfortable, he was cute.”
“I knew it!” said Dean, satisfied.
“Alright, keep it in your pants, Winchester.”
“It's not about my pants you should be worried about tonight-”
“What? I am not going out with this guy.” answered Emily, throwing away an empty beer bottle and opening one for herself. “I'm not here to make friends.”
“You don't have to make friends with him, you just have to-”
“I get it, I get it!” She interrupted Dean, seeing he was already starting to mimick sexual intercourse with his hands. “No need to be that specific.”
“So, are you going?”
“I am not going.” Emily sat down on the couch, reached for a book and threw her feet on the coffee table. She heard an empty beer bottle being placed on the table. “You throw that away!” Said Emily without raising her gaze from the book.
Soon, Dean joined her on the couch while Sam sat in the chair next to them. Bobby joined them as well. They hung out together for a while.
“You should go,“ said Dean a while later.
“No, I should not,“ Answered Emily, still focused on her book.
"Are you…scared or something? Just go, have fun!"
Later that day, Emily was cooking dinner when Sam approached her, closing the door behind him.
“Bobby, do we have any…“ she started, turning around and expecting to find the old man. “Oh, hey, Sam.” she said, leaving the stove to go look for a wooden spoon herself.
“So…“ he said. “How are you doing?”
“As if you didn't know.” She pointed a finger to her head.
“I mean, there was not much going on these days.”
She looked at him and saw he was not moving his mouth at all. None of that conversation was happening audibly. It was all telepathy.
Nervous, she aggressively started stirring the content of the pot.
“I mostly cleaned, you know. Not much going on around here.” She made sure to articulate every single word. “Sam, this thing- we can’t keep it a secret.”
“That’s exactly why I’m here!” He walked closer. “We- we need to tell Dean before he finds out the wrong way and-”
“Find out what?” Asked Dean voice behind Sam, he moved, revealing Dean, leaning on the door frame holding a beer. Sam and Emily exchanged a look.
“Cool, he was right here!” Said the latter, sarcastic. She pointed to the table and turned off the stove. Dean and Sam sat at the table and she leaned on the sink. She glared at Sam. I don’t know where to start. She tried to think. He raised his eyebrows, surprised.
“It’s alright, I got it.” He said aloud.
Dean, even more surprised, voiced his confusion: “What? Who you talking to?” Sam exhaled.
“Oh damn, it worked-” Emily let out, surprised, but Sam immediately interrupted her.
“So, you know how me and Emily have these… visions?”
“Your mojo-shit, yes.”
“Well, it might be more than just visions.” Continued Sam. Dean’s expression changed, suddenly getting more serious.
“As in?”
“We- we kinda have been talking telepathically for a while.”
“What?!” Dean sat up straighter. “How long?”
“Well, that’s-”
“How long?!”
“I’ve known for a while. Emily found out a couple of days ago.”
“Alright so, what is this, you… send each other MMS of your feelings?”
Emily giggled, but Dean was quite serious and glared at her, nervous. “What?” She asked. “Dean, this doesn’t have to be a big deal. Also, we’re still figuring it-”
“Not a big deal?” He repeated. “Dude, you’re becoming the x-men, how is it not a big deal?”
“For the love of god, stop calling me dude!” Answered Emily, frustrated. “You know, this is why I never tell you stuff!” She walked towards the door. “Always making a fight out of anything!”
“What is that supposed to mean?” Dean was about to continue the sentence with something Emily could only imagine being insults, but Sam interrupted them.
“Okay, let’s not get worked up about this, okay?” He exhaled. Emily sighed, leaning back on the sink. “I’ll see if I can find anything in Bobby’s books.”
As Dean and Sam left the room, Emily was left alone with the dinner to prepare and a lot of thoughts. It was for sure not a coincidence that both her and Sam had the same powers that had clearly something to do with the demon that killed their mothers. It wasn't also a surprise that Dean was worried about that: Emily figured that to him, she and Sam were slowly becoming what Dean had always dreaded: monsters.
